Rules Rules Revised: 16 May 2010 General

Practices are only at
St. Anthony’s Field, and never away from the CYO Complex.
v
Practice
for 20-30 minutes starting at
v
Games
begin after the Opening Pray and the National Anthem, and not before.
v
Please
line players up along the foul line at your dugout for the Pray and Anthem. v Players can not wear their hats backwards.
v
Helmets must be worn at all times when batting and
running bases.
v
There
is no on-deck circle.
v
Play all players in field.
v
PWI—an inning is over when all players get to bat
once.
v
PWII—an inning is three outs.
v
Coach pitches in PWI for the entire season
v
In PWII, coach pitch except for the last four
weeks. Then players go to the pitching
machine.
o
In case in light rain, when games are not cancelled, the machines are not used, and revert to
coach pitching. v There is no leading or stealing. v A batter is not allowed to slide into first base (added to rules mid-2010 season). v 5-run mercy rule in PWII. v At the conclusion of the game, each team will line up on their respective foul line for the traditional good sportsmanship handshake at home plate (added to rules for 2005). PWI—hitter gets a single, last batter clears the
bases

PWII—no limit on base when hitting

Both
Divisions--Each
batter is allowed five strikes, if the batter strikes out, he/she will be
allowed to take 1st base (except if the
strike out is the third out of the inning), but an out is scored. This way they do not
get dejected, and can practice base running.
v
PWII—no bunting or stealing. Fielding
v
Play one player at each infield position (inc
pitcher, but not catcher), and spread the rest throughout the out field.
v
Bases are 40’ apart.
