for approximated 30 minutes beginning at 9:00am and ending no later than 5
minutes before the start of the next session v No game can begin before the Opening Pray and the National Anthem. v Line players up along the foul line at your dugout for the Opening Pray and National Anthem. Please make sure all players shirts are tucked into their pants. v Players can not wear their hats backwards. v Helmets must be worn at all times when batting and running bases. Helmets must have a face mask, even if it is a child's personal helmet. This is a zero-tolerance rule. v There is no on-deck circle, only the player at-bat can swing a bat. v Play all players in field, in a horseshoe from first base to third. v An inning is over when all players get to bat once. v A batter is not allowed to slide into first base (added to rules mid-2010 season). v At the conclusion of the game, each team will line up on their respective foul line for the traditional good sportsmanship handshake at home plate (added to rules for 2005).
Batting
T-Ball Rookiesv Hit off batting “T” the entire season. v Batter bats until hits the ball. v Each hitter gets a single, except last batter. He/she gets a home run and clears bases. Please rotate the last batter between all of your players.
T-Ball Veterans v Hit off batting “T” except for the last four games. v Coach-pitch last four games--from a kneeling position and toss ball similar to a dart. Aiming for their bat. Kneel about 25-30 feet away. v Ask a parent to act as catcher. v Each hitter gets a single, except last batter. He/she gets a home run and clears bases. Please rotate the last batter between all of your players. v For the last four games, a batter will get five good pitches. If he/she can’t not hit the ball, then you can revert back to the batting “T”.
Fielding
v Players basically form a horseshoe from first base to third, plus a pitcher. The fielder should be slightly outside of the running paths. v If players can throw, you can position several in the outfield—they can get the grounders that get through the infield. v Bases are 40’ apart.
v
Please follow the St.
Anthony’s
CYO Philosophy rules.
